Blender: 2D Pyro Solver - Geometry Nodes

A fully functioning 2D smoke solver built for geometry nodes in Blender. This solver is equipped with a Multi Grid pressure calculation, making it faster and more accurate than other 2D fluid solvers available for blender. The solver is also equipped with advanced advection schemes such as BFECC and Modified MacCormack with multi trace step advection.

Version 4.0 Updates:

  • Multi Grid (half v-cycle) non divergence projection algorithm - making it much faster at calculating highly detailed simulations
  • Selection of forces now include: Buoyancy, Wind, Turbulence, Disturbance, Confinement, Point Force, Vortex, Drag Force
  • Improved UI adding an 'attributes' tab that allows the user to choose exactly which attributes are active, and what advection model is used for each field
  • Improved Object Velocity input, by adding a 'compute velocity' node that can be transfered to the smoke grid using the Pyro Object node

Version 3.1 Updates:

  • Performance improvement to the Project Non Divergence model by adding a 'Pressure Blend' value
  • Improved Delta Time by adding a Time Scale control and a Frame Rate input
  • Fixed Custom Attributes bugs
  • Improved Wind model
  • Improved Turbulence Force control field, is now a drop down menu
  • Improved MacCormack Advection by removing the maximum value clamp


Version 3.0 Updates:

  • Added the MacCormack advection model which has now because the solver default
  • Exchanged the the Trace Mode drop down menu for an integer controlled 'Trace Steps'
  • Removed the exposed pressure iteration control - is now locked at 50 iterations in solver
  • Improved the multi-step non divergence calculation option - now an unlimited integer control
  • Improved drag force
  • Added a particle advect node


Version 2.0 Updates:

  • BFECC Advection (as well as options to choose Upwind advection or Semi-Lagrangian advection)
  • Improved Advection Trace Modes - Single Step, Trace Midpoint, Trace RK3, RK4, and CFL Adaptive Trace
  • Multi-step non divergence calculation - with exposed pressure iteration control
  • Overall new structure making the solver more similar to houdini's pyro solve
  • In-built Wind Force, Turbulence Force, Buoyancy, and Drag Force
